July 1909
Christian C. Johnson was sentenced to serve seven years in prison for bigamy. He had confessed to being the notorious John Madson, who was sought all over the country for bigamy. In his confession, he stated that he had no idea how many women he had actually married. He believed that he had married at least 10 women and was engaged to 14 other women. According to Johnson, In around 1906, he decided to quit his business of buying horses and decided to go into business of marrying and making love to women. He confessed to making love to up to 10 women at the same time while in Oregon. He used the women to get rich quick by marrying them and then taking their money. All of the women knew him by John Madson. At one time, John Madson aka Christian C. Johnson was wanted in every major city in America for bigamy. Now, they really need to make a movie about this one!
